Venue Review: Orocco Pier, South Queensferry

Orocco Pier

The Jiggers have played for many couples on their wedding day at Orocco Pier.

Location

Orocco Pier is in South Queensferry, a quaint wee village just west of Edinburgh and near the Forth Rail Bridge.

Quirky features

It’s an original 17th Century building which was refurbed in 2003, with further function-space added periodically in the last 10-15 years.

What makes it a good venue?

There are amazing views from the large rear window out over the Firth of Forth and to the iconic railway bridge and the balcony area is a great place for guests to take a quick breather from the ceilidh dancing.

Our impressions

It’s good for smaller and more intimate events, but don’t be fooled – this place is also deceptively large, and good for bigger weddings etc… as the dance area opens out as you move towards the back.

If you have had or attended an event at Orocco Pier, please do leave a comment and share your experience.
