Venue Review: House for an Art Lover, Glasgow

House for an Art Lover

One of our favourite ceilidh venues,  House for an Art Lover has played host to the Jiggers at countless weddings and events over the years.

Location

House for an Art Lover is located within Bellahouston Park on the south-side of Glasgow.

Quirky Features

The building was inspired by the designs of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and it’s a visually unique and memorable venue. As if that wasn’t enough, it’s right next to the walled garden, which is really beautiful and serene, especially in Spring/Summer.

What makes it a good venue?

Great for a more intimate feel, with chessboard dance-floor adding to the Rennie-Mackintosh atmosphere.  There’s plenty of sitting space for guests and good food!

Our Impressions

We usually set up while guests are still upstairs, which makes for a hassle-free transition from everyone’s point of view. We also regularly provide a background pianist to play during the meal on the baby grand, or a string quartet in the wood panelled reception room upstairs, while guests have a champagne reception. (Contact The Jiggers for details on our musician/group package offers)
