Venue Review: Dalhousie Castle, Bonnyrigg

Dalhousie Castle

Dalhousie Castle is a regular haunt of the Jiggers!

Location

Dalhousie Castle & Aqueous Spa is in Bonnyrigg on the banks of the River Esk. It’s a 13th century fortress, and it’s in a large estate with woods and parks – very luxurious surroundings.

Quirky Features

Dalhousie holds the title of ‘Scotland’s Oldest Inhabited Castle’. This venue has loads of atmosphere because of its old Scottish keep.

What makes it a good venue?

Everything about this place makes you feel welcome – the rooms just feel intimate and the main room is good for a ceilidh. You won’t be short of locations for wedding photos either.

Our Impressions

We always find the staff welcoming and helpful. It’s nice to wander in the grounds as well!
You can get around 40 people onto the dancefloor for a dance, and it’s intimate and feels “historic”!
