Not been to a ceilidh in a while?

Concerned that your guests might not know how to ceilidh dance?

If you hire the Jiggers ceilidh band, you ALWAYS get a ceilidh dance caller included. The caller will also be one of the musicians, so you’re not paying for an extra band member.

The dance caller will:

• Announce the dances
• Explain the dances by walking people through the steps
• Get some chat with the audience
• Make any other announcements
• Welcome people at the start and “compare” the evening
• Put your guests at ease
• Encourage people onto the dance-floor if they are shy

The dance caller will not:

• Use inappropriate humour
• Harass people onto the floor
• Embarrass guests or clients
• Expect everyone to know what they’re doing
  
• Take too long over explanations when they are not required

Our clients can confirm it: a good caller makes all the difference. We’ve heard too many horror stories of so-called callers who were inappropriate, or aggressive… or drunk! Don’t risk it…

With the Jiggers, you get a great caller who will have good-natured banter with the audience, and will also liaise with you to co-ordinate things like the first dance, break etc…

DEMONSTRATION DANCERS.

If you are worried about people being shy and not wanting to be first on the dancefloor, we can also supply 2-4 DEMONSTRATION DANCERS who will keep people right and ensure that the dancefloor is never slow to fill up. This often goes down well at larger events (200+ people) or events where there are lots of foreign guests who might benefit from a little friendly support!
